Caring for Families
It can be a challenge raising children, particularly in situations of low income. We support a number of projects that aim to give parents, children and young people the support they need in order to thrive.
TFC supports families through a variety of channels, from employing Family Link Workers in schools and churches, to funding a range of projects that run parenting skills courses and support groups.
- Women of Willenhall (WOW) at St. John the Divine
TFC awarded £2,500 to support women through issues of domestic abuse and encourage them to take positive steps towards emotional, financial and physical freedom. - Stay and Play
Our Family Link Workers run Stay and Play groups in St. John the Divine Church Hall and St. Bartholomew’s and St. Laurence CofE School. These sessions provide support for parents and build a sense of community.
We were proud to work in partnership with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) to provide circus skills workshops in our schools and churches in St Matthew's Salford Priors, St John's Willenhall, St Laurence's Foleshill and Stretton in Binley.
Food Poverty
We have benefited hugely from having family link workers in our parish. They have really helped to strengthen the relationship between the church and our church school. They have served and supported families in real need, and have contributed in many different ways towards the loving and positive learning environment in the school
