Work Clubs

With the help of TFC grants, work clubs have been set up in several locations to improve employability in low income and unemployed individuals. The groups seek to train volunteers, provide work experience, help with writing CV's and identify work placements.

  • St Francis of Assisi Radford - St Francis Work Club successfully operates a full time work club and volunteer programme, which enables clients looking or work to volunteer and find employment, with Rev. Liz Jackson and her team working hard and seeing great success with volunteers. The project has been so successful that ‘Rightstep’ have now partnered with the work club and send referrals to the centre, whilst providing training and support.
  • St Oswald's, Tile Hill - The Tile Hill Job Club was started up in January 2016 and offers practical advice on job hunting, help with your CV, interview dry-runs and more. It runs on Tuesday afternoons from 2.00pm - 4.00pm and includes free tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches. A team of helpers will be there to guide you through the process of finding your personal strengths and working out the right kind of job for you. TFC, along with Stoneleigh Trust, was able to gift Tile Hill Job Club with a grant totalling £2,300, to allow for the continuation of a project that serves its community astoundingly.
  • Warwick Job Club - Transforming Communities Together Warwick is working with Saltisford Church to run a weekly job club on Friday afternoons. The aim of the job club is to provide IT training, support, mentoring and ongoing employment support. Specially trained volunteers work with people to help build confidence, skills and experience and help search for suitable employment opportunities. The club is there not only to train practically but to bring back hope to those who feel like all hope may be lost.
  • St Albans, Stoke Heath Work Club - St Albans Church, Stoke Heath, were awarded £2,500 from Together For Change to support their existing work club and enable the project to continue to support the unemployed with job searches, interview techniques and internet support. The project has a very good track record and has been well established, placing many clients back into long term employment
